Koh Waen and a Train

Discover with us the train wreck in Koh Waen!

Around the small, uninhabited island of Koh Waen you will find huge boulders and a train that invites you to dive. Covered with corals, anemones and schools of fish. There are also nudibranches to be found here. A definitely exceptional photo opportunity. The train was intentionally sunk by the Thai authorities on April 28, 2015 to create an artificial reef. The train is located outside the small uninhabited island of Koh Waen south of Koh Lanta, which belongs to the “four islands”. The visibility is sometimes reduced in these waters, although many coral species grow near the island. Here you will also find huge boulders with corals, sponges and anemones. Sea life consists of schools of fish such as Snapper and Barracuda. Overhangs, elevations and caves provide protection for glass fish and various species of nudibranchs. There are also interesting cave systems to dive.
